GNOMASTE Automatic Negative Thoughts (ANT) Cards

from $20.00

Perfect Holiday Gift! Order by 12/8 to get by 12/20 - comes with embroidered velvet gift bag!

GNOMASTE Automatic Negative Thought (ANT) Cards are an exceptional resource in the development of social-emotional learning skills. They empower children to challenge their automatic negative thoughts and foster healthier thinking patterns.

Use ANT cards regularly to help children build a habit of recognizing and reshaping automatic negative thoughts. Over time, this will help improve their emotional resilience and self-esteem.

How to Use GNOMASTE ANT Cards

1. Introduce the Cards: Explain to children that these cards help identify and challenge negative thoughts that pop into their heads automatically. Let them know that everyone has these thoughts sometimes, but we can change them!

2. Pick a Card: Each cards will contain a different common negative thought (e.g., "I'm not good enough") or a situation where negative thinking might arise.

3. Identify the Negative Thought: Read the thought on the card and ask the child to think about whether they've ever had a similar thought.

4. Challenge the Thought: Encourage the child to ask themselves, "Is this thought really true?" Help them look for evidence that challenges the negative thought. For example, if the card says, "I always fail," guide them to think about times the’ve succeeded.

5. Replace with a Positive Thought: Work with the child to come up with a healthier, more balanced thought. For example, "I won’t always succeed, but I can always learn from my failures."

6. Reflect: After practicing with a few cards, discuss how it feels to challenge negative thoughts and learn to replace them with more positive ones.
